The Russian House

Austin has a Russian restaurant and we got a groupon to it.  At first we were going to use it before going to Russia to learn but then we decided it would be more fun to go after and remember and that's what we did yesterday.  They had a big stuffed bear (with a  man purse-too awesome) and heavy coats and hats in the entrance that you could dress up in. 

 We only ordered things that we had eaten in Russia on our visit to Catherine, Justin, Gabriel & Abigail, including compote-fruit (neighborhood cafe) and berry drinkes-lake campsite and chocolate blini (crepes at the mall on the way to the ballet)

 Borscht (Peterhof) and meat & cheese blini (at the mall by their playground)

 Pelmini (meat in little pastas-in their home for the Frozen party and at the Russian countryside restaurant).

 And a side of buckwheat (Peterhoff, I've also bought some of this from HEB and look forward to seeing if the girls like it at home too).
The place was decorated with fabreyie eggs and matrushka dolls and had Russia music videos (saw on tvs in public places a few times) and cartoons which interestingly we didn't see any in Russia.
The food tasted pretty much the same so we can give the Russian House a recommendation for authenticness.  It was fun to look at our St. Petersburg book and remember our fun trip.
