Lydia's recipe

Lydia had me spell words so she could write down a recipe that we made for dessert for lunch today. Besides being a doctor, she says she wants to be a book maker so we'll see!

Girl Friend!

It is very awesome how many good girl friends Lydia & Gloria have to hang out with. Westarted a new playgroup this fall with two moms in our neighborhood-they are wonderful ladies with sweet daughters and it is so great not to have to drive for one and have a two minute drive for the other. Lydia and the other older sister can lock horns to be the alpha female, but mostly its running around, doll playing fun.

Then there are our wonderful church friends who are such a comfort to be around-in things in common and longevity of friendship. This was at the Friendship planning meeting with Nita & Abby and they include Gloria in a wonderful way too.

This video is our 1st grade neighbor who we often see and her parents send her over to play for a bit before they go somewhere (they are moving soon) but its been fun to spend time with her.

Christmas in Salado

When we arrived Bill, Jessamy, Jonathan & Lucy were already there. The kiddos decorated gingerbread men with Nana-all of J's had a bite out of its head-so funny.
I got to hold Lucy while she was sleeping-nothing sweeter!
The kids did a nativity play with Lucy-baby Jesus-she was perfect. Gloria as Mary, Jonathan as running around Joseph and Lydia the angel-she did her lines from her play again. Kathy & Granddaddy were there as well. Then breaking tradition we opened presents on Christmas eve!

Lydia was up first (as usual but thankfully not a crazy time) and we have a pic like this from when she was two enjoying her candy canes and fruit snacks.
Then Gloria with crazy hair joined her, they both loved the treats and their ballerina dolls. When then got ready for church-FBC Belton
Both girls sat with us and did fine, there was a children's sermon and they enjoyed going to the front for it. Lots of music and a great LMO appeal and reflection on the first Christmas.
We then went to Granddaddy's house (Jim & family were there) for a nice lunch, we spent the rest of the day playing there-including the singing angels.
Merry Christmas to all! (looking back at this post yep Christmas is all about the kids, Caleb didn't make a photo and neither did several other adults-sorry but we still love you)

The Circus

We had a free Saturday and Caleb got some free passes, so we headed to the Shiner's circus in Cedar Park. Both girls did great, though Gloria whined a little at the beginning (walking around) and ended the show on the floor in front of our seats (glad we went to the 11 instead of later in the day-yuck!). At the beginning we watched people take animal rides. Lydia said I don't want to ride anything and we said ok (which was good as we didn't want to pay for her to ride one anyway!)
There were elephants, performing dogs, a guy shot out of a cannon, jumping motorcycles, dancing, climbing, juggling and flagging girls (Gloria said when I am bigger can I do that?), tigers, clowns, trampoline jumpers, protesters as we entered and more...
including cotton candy-our one snack, Gloria was messy but yay for wipes.
We enjoyed the sunshine during intermission and had a picnic lunch.

Daddy's girls

Caleb is in charge of bath time and can be creative. The girls wanted me to take a picture of their horns.
Another night Caleb was previewing an ocean video for school during bath time. The girls heard the tv and jumped out of the bath (normally they don't want to stop) and then sat wrapped up in their towels engrossed with the water world on screen. Gloria kept saying everything was a shark, but they also know a lot of ocean animals!

Drought Walk

One day when Caleb was off for the summer, we went to the park across Hwy 71 for a walk. We came upon a pond that was half dried up and walked around it-very interesting to see the cracks and find shells.
the girls were troopers but they were ready for a rest once we got up the hill

Basketball game

Caleb took the girls with two other dads and kids to a UT men's basketball game. They had a nice time (and I stayed busy at home). Lydia came home saying Hook'em Horns-oops!
