Sea World

 When both girls were going into kinder, we took them to Sea World alone. This was the first time for us to as a family of four. (and yes we thought about not going because of the conditions of large mammals in small tanks, but we got a great deal on the tickets....)

 We first saw the seals and sea lions, we fed them and watched their show.

 Journey to Atlantis, Gloria thought it was only scary not scary and fun.

 They are redoing the dolphin area so this is where they are being kept until then, they did jump and play but were pretty far away.

 Next up Rio Loco tube ride where we got wet.

 But we needed to cool off more so we headed to the splash park.

 and saw a rescue pet show for the first time, it was cute and worth the time.

 We got our picnic out of the car and ate it in the shade

 before going back into the park

 we stumbled upon a Seseme street dance party!

 Acted silly while waiting in line one more time for Rio Loco.

 And made it to the end for Shamu's night show, we headed out with the huge crowd (it was a Tuesday in late July!) and were happy for such a great day.

We got to be a part of the entire week of VBS at Park Hills and enjoyed it very much.  So blessed to work here.

Had a fun Austin evening~met friends at Central Market for LIVE music-the Djembe Ladies...

then headed to Congress bridge to try and see the bats. We saw a great skyline and lots of people and a few bats.

We skipped swimming this time and had a picnic, rode the train and enjoyed the show. 

Linda came to town for a conference so we met her at her fancy hotel and walked to the Russian House restaurant where we ordered things we ate over there on our trips.

More friend fun.  A group went to see Owen & Judah in a theater camp performance of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (and we kicked off our summer of Narnia)

And we said good bye to Tingting and Summer with a library program and shaved iced. They went back to China the following week.

and I got to spend a weekend hanging out with old coworkers while working the TQHA horse sale in San Antonio. It was fun, I got a hotel to stay in and I earned money, triple win!

June

Who says you have to blog in order?  The summer is over because school has begun and it is September (but its still hot) so I wanted to share some highlights of the summer months!
They went to school all the way until June 10 so the first part of June was school!
So we missed the first part of HP VBS which had been so special for so many years and then Gloria got sick but we did get to go a couple of days and got the CD and enjoyed the pond for a picnic.

We had several fun celebrations for Caleb's birthday including TexMex with my side of the family in Belton.

Kayaking down the river, just the two of us. Such a fun and peaceful day.

Then super fancy dinner out!

Friend time, we got to see friends like The Jones and Birches, and Rasmia as well when we got frozen yogurt.

Lydia got to spend a week at horse camp and one day while both Caleb and I worked Gloria got to go to Nana & Grandpa's and they spent the day at Cameron Park Zoo!  The beautiful ladies in blue with giraffes.

I came to get her on Tuesday and we enjoyed the creek and the new mermaid in her new location.

Lydia has a show off time at horse camp and she had a great week and did a wonderful performance.

We host many friends from school, the neighborhood and old church at a Saturday morning swim party.  The kids had a great time. 

After all that fun, 'regular' summer began, with me working on Mondays while the girls went to Gymnastics camps with Kylie, Caleb taking off Wednesdays to hang out and Thursdays with a friend. We jammed Tues & Fridays full of trips to the library, movies and with friends.  

One day the whole family went kayaking and we left the camera in the car (purposefully) but we got a block of dry ice on the way home for science fun in the driveway.
