Port A again

We took a quick weekend trip to Port A, with my parents. Stayed in great cabins (King Fish Courts). Lydia got to sleep with the grands and stayed up later than Grandpa last night. The guys went fishing while we went to the beach and had rest/nap time. Running through the shark was Lydia's favorite thing (besides licking the sand) and leaving was the only time she had a big meltdown!

Lydia and Nana climbed the mountain all the way to 'the topest' and Lydia had to do it again and again.
Lydia had a great time 'sharing' Grandpa's salad-she is a dip girl.
Outside the new Port Aransas museum.
Both girls loved the sand and the waves.

Dress up

Lydia LOVES dressing up like a princess. She discovered that I also have a princess dress (a dress I had tailored in Oman to go to weddings) so now I often have to wear mine too. She is going to be Snow White for Halloween.
We also have music time and wave scarves. Lydia likes to put them on our heads, Gloria kept hers on for just a bit before figuring out how to pull it off. The rings on the mirror are marking off the days of our TV/computer free week. My mom said be careful what you ban but it was driving me crazy that tv is all Lydia wanted to do so for this whole we aren't watching any and I am only doing computer while she is in bed. Wed we'll be back to Dora every time Gloria takes a morning nap!

Chicken Wave

Chickfila gave a free sandwich to anyone wearing their sports team logo so we went all decked out. Caleb was fishing so Mom came to visit. They asked if we wanted four but we passed on Gloria's and just gave her waffle fries and baby food! Lots of people were there supporting lots of teams.

Gloria is almost One

Gloria is getting bigger everyday (though she lost some weight while sick) . She is doing sign language (more, all finished, hi, bye, No). She has also discovered that if she fusses she can get what she wants more. She and Lydia make each other laugh. She loves to 'read' her books and clap and dance to music. She loves to eat and especially feed herself (she got tired of bland food while sick), but she wasn't too fond of the potatoes below.

Family Fun

Aunt Kathy came to visit from Tennessee so we went for a visit to Salado and Belton. We brought flowers to Grandmama in her home and played with Kathy's dog Daisy.

Stuck in the bathroom

We have been hanging out in the bathroom because Gloria has diarrhea. Lydia decided to get comfortable and of course that means she wants her paci (but only gets it in bed now). Gloria has been sick since Tuesday but can still smile and do tricks!
(since this time Gloria does her squirting in the potty which is so much better) ahhhh what my life involves now, its getting a little old being home bound.

Our Princess

Lydia loves princesses right now and loves her Dora princess dress (and loves watching Dora and acting out entire episodes). We made her a crown. But being a princess doesn't get in the way of doing her construction 'job'.
