Field Trip

 Lydia's class on her Kindergarten field trip to the Austin Nature & Science Center...

 and the Richard Moya park for lunch and playground.  It was a beautiful day (and Gloria's last day of preschool)

Playing on the huge logs was even more fun than the playground.

It's open!

yay, we are now ready for summer because our pool is open!  You are welcome to come visit and enjoy it as well.

Haircut

 Gloria's bangs needed a trim and while I was at it, she said she wanted the rest to be above her ears, I said how about below the ears and she said ok.  So we have our cute bob for the summer!  And she is totally in style for all the bobs that are sure to come because of the Great Gatsby.

Kindergarten

 Lydia is having a Completion Ceremony for Kindergarten on June 7!  We got her progress report and she is going to make it :) exceeds expectations in everything.

If this isn't the cutest thing the world, I don't know what is.  I am very impressed with the photographer that got a bunch of KGers to look and smile.

Mother's Day

After church on Mother's Day, Caleb suggested we stop at a little restaurant I had been wanting to try.  It wasn't busy (unlike the fancy one next door).  We got food, frozen lemonade and pie!

Behind the restaurant they have a farm/garden.  We spent a lot of time exploring it including...

the chicken coop...

and the sunflowers.

And yes, these are my feet in the corner of this picture because this was a perfectly idyllic scene.  The restaurant next door had live guitar music (of course its Austin) floating over.  Caleb and were lounging in chairs while the girls frolicked in Sunday dresses among the sunflowers.  They made a new friend and played hide and seek, while giggling and enjoying the perfect weather.

Samba

On the night of my birthday, Caleb took me to see Shakespeare in the park at the Zilker Hillside.  It started warm but then got cool.  Our neighbors watched the girls (and got in in bed at a decent hour after all our other nights of parties).  The play was A Winter's Tale set in South America including celebration Samba dancing.  The Austin Samba group did a quick demo before the play for the audience; the drums were very loud in my ears.  It was like a short Zumba class and after all the eating and before the sitting it was nice to stretch my legs :)

Birthday in Salado

 I was craving Chinese buffet for my birthday lunch so Mom & Dad said-come to Salado and we'll take you to Jake's (voted the best buffet in Bell Co).  Lydia had been saying she wanted a tree house and the one from when we were kids were really high and had mostly fallen down, so Dad built a great one a little lower, including a swing. The weather was amazing so we spent most of the day in the backyard.

 Granddaddy joined up at the restaurant and I ate too much, but definitely satisfied my cravings for Chinese food!

 The waitresses brought me a cutely decorated birthday cake and sang.

Family pic (Lydia has a cucumber in her mouth).  Then we went back to my parents' house and ate cake and opened birthday presents before heading back to Austin.
