L-why are pirates bad?
E-because they steal and hurt people
L-are there pirates in our world?
E-Yes in the country of Somalia there are men who are pirates
L-I want to go to Somalia
E-Why?
L-to help the pirates be good
E-How can you help them be good?
L-by giving them Bibles
(be still my beating heart....:)
On the drive home from AWANAS
L-guess what mom? some of my friends' parents are Christians!
(I realize wow we certainly have eliminated that from our conversations, we talk about believing, obeying God and following Jesus but obviously haven't used the word Christian around her)
E-we are Christians too and when you get old enough we want you to decide to be a Christian too.
the conversation goes on:
E-we pray that you will love and follow Jesus....
L-yes just like a Christian!
The other night when Caleb was working late Lydia decided to have a party to thank God for loving us. She chose the back porch as the location, drew pictures of God on a throne with lots of crowns and rainbows (from the Children's bible story of Revelation), also added decorations of picked flowers, globes and princess dressup. Gloria was getting fussy so we put her to bed and then continued by having a 'prayer mission' which meant the person praying stood up and the person listening sat down. We went back and forth for about 10 minutes (which is a long time with a four year old) covering topics of thanks, praying for friends & various countries, that God would make Gloria not fussy (Lydia said that and I had a hearty Amen) and then Lydia said we would end the party by praise dancing around the back yard!
