The Rustaq hot springs
First day out of the city. We loaded up our cars and headed up the Batinah Coast. Past beautiful roundabouts and then turned in from the coast to the mountains, first to Rustaq. We drove through the town to find out the fort was closed for renovations. Oh well, we stopped at a little grocery store for picnic lunch items and met a super friendly cashier. We all ate things like chips, nuts, cookies, bread and cheese for lunch. Our picnic stop was the historical Spring and kinda like Bath, England over time lots of people have come to the hot springs to bathe. It is now connected to a mosque and there are covered bathrooms to wash in before praying. We sat and ate our lunch, before getting back into the car for the beautiful drive to Nakhal through mountains and by wadis. The time in the car was never wasted-we all enjoyed getting to know each other better and praying together. The fort in Nakhal was open and we spent a nice time self touring the rooms and enjoying the views. A huge cloud sat on top of the mountain and reminded us of when God covered the mountain with Moses. There was an Omani couple also touring the fort, I didn't speak to them but others said they thought they must be on their honeymoon because she had lots of henna and neither one of them could stop smiling!

We drove back into Muscat and spent the evening at the Nassem Festival again. I avoided Egyptian waiters and we shopped some and got a sweet tray which none was very good, I had a falafal sandwich for dinner. We ran into Muneera and her sisters and admired their henna! Three of us wanted to go to the big Walmart type store (Carrefour) in the mall, and I ended up getting a lot of gifts from there. They had added a parking garage since we were there and it was so crowded, it reminded me more of Dubai's malls. After that fun experience we headed back to the hotel!
