Oman - Day 7 Afternoon

Even though we were soaking wet from the last waves, we were so close to the Bait Al Zubair Museum that we all stopped for a quick look. It has a nice outside display, and lots of great Omani artifacts, etc, really a good look at Omani history and culture. My friend Azza also worked close by so she took her lunch break to visit me there. It was great, we walked around and caught up, talking about her children and home and work, while the group learned about Oman. It was another cruise ship day with lots of tourists from Europe there. Something different is that we saw the cruise ship guys often wearing the long man's dishdasha, we had been told they should not be worn by nonOmanis. I asked Azza about it and she said it was okay in tourist areas but they would be told to stop if they went into other parts of the city or country.
We then drove back to the hotel via the Muttrah Corniche were we stopped to look some at the cruise ships and Sultan's yacht. A Pakistani worker came up to us and showed us a bloody wound on his arm and asked for money to get back home. It was eye opening for some as in country they had only seen the beautiful well kept areas with generous hospitable people.
We got back to the hotel and had a wonderful hot shower. The hotel had two bedrooms & bathrooms in each suite with a sitting area and small kitchen. It was very nice but the bathrooms, while there were western toilets the shower was very Eastern-no shower curtain and a drain in the middle of the room, so everything got wet. So it was fun to still feel like we were doing something cultural or roughing it while in a nice place :)
Each day (mostly in the mornings) we met in a sitting room to share and one person led a devotional.
This day we took the Lord's supper together. I had bought the traditional Omani coffee cups (finjan) to use and everyone took one home as a souvenir.
We also had really good prayer times together. One man had lost his wife a year ago to cancer and was having a hard time while on the trip, another lady's mother was going to have heart surgery while she was in Oman but praise the Lord it got postponed so she could be there for it and that guilt was removed, another man's children were experiencing strange medical problems. It was good to share together and bond through prayer.
